16 Slice CT Scanner

CT or CAT is short for Computed Axial Tomography. This is a safe and common imaging technique, with thousands of CT scans being performed every day in the United States. CT produces images in cross-sectional “slices” that are taken around the body. It does use radiation to create the images; however the scan is painless and only last 10-30 minutes.

CT Scanner

The best part about a 16-slice scanner is that oral contrast (or barium solution) is not required. Patients now drink water before an exam when trying to fill the small and large intestines to help produce clearer pictures.

Before the exam a certified CT technologists will answer any questions and a board certified sub-specialty radiologists will provide the highest quality reading of your exam.
